Com o apoio do Ministério da Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimento (MAPA), a Organização das Cooperativas do Brasil (OCB), a Empresa de Assistência Técnica e Extensão Rural de Minas Gerais (Emater/MG) e o Conselho Nacional do Café (CNC) lançaram uma Cartilha especial sobre seguro rural voltada aos produtores de café. O MAPA também atualizou o já tradicional Guia de Seguros Rurais, material que orienta produtores de todas as culturas sobre o funcionamento do seguro.
A cartilha exclusiva do café foi produzida pelas equipes técnicas e de comunicação das instituições e criada pensando em facilitar ao cafeicultor o passo a passo para a contratação do seguro, garantindo mais tranquilidade no dia a dia. “Pensamos numa cartilha simples, rápida e direta para despertar o interesse do cafeicultor em contratar o Seguro Rural. Os últimos eventos climáticos, seca e geada, deixaram clara a necessidade de se prevenir”. As entidades que produziram os materiais se uniram para disseminar a cultura do seguro rural, principalmente após a crise hídrica e a geada do dia 20 de julho de 2021.
Sabemos que o cafeeiro é uma cultura bienal, perene e com características muito distintas de acordo com a região de cultivo, podendo ser irrigada ou não, de altitude ou não, da espécie arábica ou canéfora, entre outros diversos aspectos. É certo que o seguro do café é mais complexo que as outras culturas, por isso, o MAPA junto de entidades parceiras como o CNC, vêm desenvolvendo trabalhos para fomentar a cultura da contratação, além da criação de produtos atraentes.
O Guia (MAPA) tem o objetivo de proporcionar conhecimento ao produtor e demais agentes do setor sobre esse mecanismo de mitigação de riscos agropecuários. O documento, elaborado com a participação de entidades representativas do setor produtivo e seguradoras, traz novidades, como exemplos práticos dos produtos de seguro de forma descomplicada.
